Bindery Operatives
July 2026: We have openings in our bindery department. No experience is necessary as full training will be given and we welcome applications from anyone from school leavers to print industry veterans.
The role involves setting up and running a range of machines, as printed sheets move through our production processes. The variety of work that we produce keeps the work interesting as there may be 4 or 5 different books going through each machine on a given day.
Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to work quickly and consistently in a fast-moving deadline driven environment. Mechanical problem-solving skills are very helpful in dealing with complex equipment, and experience of running print finishing equipment is a definite advantage. We run 5 x 7.5 hour, 4×9 hour and 3×12 hour shifts in the bindery, and are actively seeking to increase utilisation and throughput on key machines.
On our homepage there is a walkthrough tour of the factory (based on google streetview) which gives a good feel for the working environment and our equipment.
Casual Bindery Operatives
July 2026: Casual posts are also available within the bindery team. Hours will be worked by mutual agreement to meet seasonal demands. If you are applying for casual work only please make this clear on your application.
We are a growing business and are always interested to hear from experienced print professionals with relevant experience.
All applications by e-mail with CV to hr@gomer.co.uk. Please take some time to write a covering letter if you are serious about working with us.
